Shiatsu Foundation Course

This Shiatsu Foundation Course takes place over 2 weekends. The focus will be on developing your own sensitivity and understanding of the body, discovering how imbalances arise and how they can be corrected. This foundation course provides good grounding in the healing art of Shiatsu for qualified massage therapists who wish to incorporate new techniques into their practice and for beginners who seek basic skills in Shiatsu for use amongst family and friends.
The course will cover the essential aspects of Shiatsu including
Full Body Routine - a simple safe Shiatsu for family and friends
Principles of Shiatsu Technique
Introduction to the Classical Meridian System
Introduction to pressure points and how to treat common ailments
Do-in Japanese exercises and self-shiatsu techniques
Qi Gong
It is a complete elementary course in its own right and upon completion and if you are still fascinated by Shiatsu, you can then go on to study the 3 year Practitioner Course.

Shiatsu Practitioner Training Diploma
Starting Jan 2011

- The course will cover the essential aspects of Shiatsu and include:
Three-year part-time course leading towards a practitioner diploma.
Two year Practitioner Training Programme and then a final Clinical Year.
Ten week-ends per year, with one week residential in years 2 and 3.
Meets the requirements of The Shiatsu Society of Ireland, the governing body of Shiatsu in Ireland.
Courses are held in The Healthy Way centre in Leixlip, Co. Kildare
The course is taught by some of the teachers and founders of the original Shiatsu School of Ireland.

Course Fees
Foundation Course
This course takes place over two weekend, €320 for all 4 days (deposit of €100 required)
Practitioner Course
Year 1: €1,950 (deposit of €500 required)
Year 2: €2,500 (11 weekends and 5 day residential)
Year 3: €2,500 (10 weekends and 5 day residential)
These fees include:
- All week-end tutoring and course notes.
- All study workgroups.
- All exam fees.
- Residential costs (B&B, light lunch and dinner).
For Year 1 a deposit of €500 secures a place and then monthly direct debits of €145 over 10 months. For Year 2 and 3, there are monthly direct debits of €250 over 10 months. Course fees can also be paid in 3 instalments over the year,
The next Practitioner Course scheduled start date for Year 1 is January 2011.
